Twitnic!

Did you know that for the second year running we're getting an extra bank holiday? It's all to do with trying to make people like the royals even though they're a bit odd. I'm all for the royals. Harry is good comedy value and anything that gives me extra bank holidays is good.

Regardless of your feelings on the monarchy, you've got to admit that there's something awesome about bank holidays. They're like secret bonus days that call for lazing in the sun with friends or throwing a frisbee about while someone in the background strums a guitar.

That's why we're having a Twitnic. A twitter picnic of course! It's a great way to meet those people you talk to all the time on twitter, or just to meet new people. We really want to celebrate the community that is Twitter in Leeds. Everyone on Twitter is invited, all you have to do is register for a ticket (just so we can keep an eye on numbers and get info to you for alternative plans if it rains!), then bring along a picnic! If you have fun stuff (frisbees, guitars, bubbles wise. No fires or drugs please!), then bring that too. We'll also be bringing games and goodies to share. If there's a group of you, why not arrange a giant picnic to share - or why not bring a little extra to share with strangers?

We'll be meeting on Millennium Square at 1pm, where we'll then head to our top-secret picnic location where we'll while away the afternoon.

After Twitnic is wrapping up, we'll be heading down to Dock Street Market for a very special afterparty, with drinks offers and Jubilee food available, and with special DJ guests to party into the early hours.

We've also got some brilliant sponsors who are helping to make sure that Twitnic is a really fun event - massive thanks to Gopher Deals, Call Lane Social, Verve, The Reform and Fabrication.
